After living in their idyllic neighborhood for 20 years, this couple chose to renovate their dated home’s entire first floor rather than leave their dear friends. We drafted an entirely new floor plan, moved the kitchen to the opposite side of the home, created open flow throughout the common areas, added a bathroom, furnished the home, and much more. It’s now a place where they love to relax and enjoy good company.

“As a general contractor since 1995, I’ve worked with a lot of interior designers. Rochelle is much more involved and always impresses me with her top-drawer organizational skills. She helps homeowners make the right decisions and their homes look prettier because of her.”

The Kitchen

before and after

This client loves to cook and entertain. This home has hosted numerous neighborhood block parties and family reunions. After 20 years of hospitality, it was time to make the home function for its task. We combined an office and dining room to create this well-equipped kitchen. Rerouting a pair of french doors allowed us to expand the exterior deck. Opening up the cased opening near the front door made easier traffic patterns for guests. Moving the kitchen from the center of the home allowed for an open concept kitchen and dining space. We completely transformed the layout of this home. Now, it functions beautifully for both host and guest.

The Sunroom

before and after

The backyard with adjoining creek is a well-loved amenity in this client's home. We wanted to take their sun-porch to the next level; allowing for luscious landscape views and expanding the interior entertaining space. We updated the room by installing all new picture windows, widening the cased opening and continuing new flooring from the adjacent living room. A sunny color palette with plush seating invite all who visit to sit and relax a while. And new custom cabinetry can now house all those board games for fun evenings with friends.

The Office

before and after

During our first walk through, it was evident this laundry space was not functioning. An awkward layout, dim lighting, lack of storage and an unused second staircase did little to create a sense of calm and order. Adding a large picture window brought great light into the space. Removing the staircase and laundry closet allowed us to create a drop zone, laundry zone, dog zone and office zone. Custom cabinetry in a lovely blue hue keeps everything exactly in its place. We wonder, what are the hidden possibilities in your home?
