Originally from the Jersey Shore, these homeowners imagined a winter home in coastal North Carolina that would bring them closer to their adult children and grandchildren—and give everyone a beautiful place to gather.

Built by PBC Design + Build, the home blends a refined coastal sensibility with warmth, color, and personality. Dwelling Place Interiors guided the exterior and interior selections throughout the new construction process, then layered in furnishings, art, lighting, textiles, and accessories to make the home feel collected rather than simply new.

Soft coastal hues mingle with richer moments of color and pattern, while natural textures and thoughtful details keep the rooms relaxed and welcoming. Each space was designed to feel beautiful, but also comfortable enough for grandchildren, overnight guests, long dinners, and everyday life.

The result is more than a winter retreat. It is a gracious coastal home created around family—one that tells the story of where its owners came from and the life they are building here.
